It's been a whirlwind around here lately!  So much happening....life!
Our local art center hosted "Art in Bloom" juried exhibit in April where I entered four paintings.  I thought the fourth was a little "iffy" since I wasn't 100% happy with it.  All four were accepted into the exhibit.  At the opening reception, juror Cindy Thau selected my painting "Rick's Plumerias" as the Best in Show.  I was shocked and so happy!  My mother was in attendance with me so that was an added bonus that she got to witness me receiving the award.  My husband, Rick, actually grows plumerias and our backyard has been turned into a plumeria plantation!  So it was doubly exciting that a painting of his plumerias won the award!

In May, I traveled to Cherokee, NC to attend the Plein Air Convention and Expo (PACE) 2024.  Approximately 1000 people descended on the Harrah's Cherokee Convention Center where we were able to watch demos by our favorite artists, visit our favorite vendors in the expo hall, and head out to painting locations in the afternoons.  We visited the Great Smokey Mountain Visitor's Center and met some wild elk, Darnell Farms in Bryson City which was a beautiful active farm, and finally we spent the day at the Biltmore Estate painting various locations.  It was a fun but exhausting week.

Thank you for checking out my website.  I am so happy you are here!

Since starting my art business, I've only sold locally in boutiques and restaurants in the area.  We have so many wonderful visitors to our area who've seen my art in the stores, but didn't have time to stop and shop or the size they needed wasn't at the store.  I'm so thankful they reached out to me to see if I could sell to them direct.  Thankfully, I could help them find what they were looking for.  So I started this website to help others who may be looking for coastal art for their homes.

It's somewhat intimidating to think I'm starting an online business and I'm curious to see how far my art will travel.  I remember my very first art piece I sold at an art exhibit.  First I was surprised at the sale, but then I started wondering, worrying really, where did my art go, where was it living?  I tracked down the buyer and found they lived in Nashville.  How wonderful to know my art is living in Tennessee!

I'm just getting started with this and I've added art I'm currently selling in the stores.  There's new artwork on the way as I have time to paint and not build websites!!

If you have any questions or have comments, suggestions, please go the the Contact page and send me a note.  I would love to hear from you!
